Tile is what this company started as in 1992 and it is still the thing we are best at. Porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, marble, mosaic, and large format panels, set on floors, walls, showers, backsplashes, fireplaces, and outdoor living space. Everything else we do grew outward from this trade, which is why a Watson kitchen and a Watson bathroom tend to be judged on the tile long after the cabinets stop being new.

Setting tile in North Texas is genuinely different from setting it almost anywhere else, and the reason is under your feet. This whole region sits on Blackland Prairie clay, which swells when it rains and shrinks hard in an August drought. That movement goes straight into the slab, and a slab that moves will telegraph every bit of it into a rigid tile floor as cracked tile and split grout lines. It is the single most common tile failure in this part of Texas and it is almost never the tile's fault.

So the assembly matters more than the material. Floors that need it get a crack isolation or uncoupling membrane between the slab and the tile, which lets the concrete move without dragging the tile with it. Movement joints go in at the perimeter and through the field on large runs, rather than being grouted solid and left to fail. In newer subdivisions the slabs are often post tension, which means there are steel cables in the concrete and nobody drills or cores one without locating them first. Get those three things right and the floor outlives the house. Skip them and it cracks on schedule.
